Year 8 Camp
Year 8 camp was a marine discovery bonanza soaking up the beautiful foreshore of Queenscliff.Feb 18th 2019
Year 8 students have returned from their 4-day camp at Wyuna near the coastal town of Queenscliff on the Bellarine Peninsula. Staying right on the Port Phillip Bay gave the students a tremendous opportunity to enjoy the foreshore. The days were filled with activities from boogie boarding, bike riding, exploring the rock pools and taking the Marine Discovery cruise where they were introduced to all sorts of marine life.
After a full day, relax time was often taken up with a game of modified dodgeball in the “Gaga” Pit, Trivia Night competition and Minute-to-Win-It games.
We suspect they might have enjoyed the rest on the bus home but hope they found their days on the coast valuable.

When all is said and done, this was an amazing camp and I hope the Year 7’s will enjoy their camp next year.
The Year 8 camp to Queenscliff was the best camp I have been on. The YMCA staff were some of the best, the activities were so much fun and really made the most of the natural ecosystem. Everyone got groups and cabins with their friends and every single one of my friends enjoyed their trip.
We had fun boogie boarding, bike riding, pizza making and going on a walk to the Marine Discovery Centre. It was a joy to go shopping in the town after the cruise in Port Phillip Bay. Games in Princess Park kicked off with Red Rover then moved into an epic game of Duck, Duck, Goose. Cooper provided excellent entertainment by taping Martin and Kayden then running off while we watched the 5 minutes of, essentially, their big game of chasey.
