Class of 2024 Valedictory

Celebrating these milestone events might signify the conclusion of their secondary education but more so, the beginning of the next chapter, wherever that may lead.

Our Valedictory Service, followed by the Valedictory Dinner at the Commercial Club Albury in November, was a fitting celebration of our students’ successes, achievements, and the bonds they have built throughout their journey. It was a day marked by joy and laughter, a true reflection of the spirit they have carried with them all year.

As I reflect on the events, I am particularly struck by the poignant and heartfelt Valedictory Speech delivered by Rachel Lade and Frankie Davies whose closing remarks resonated deeply. He noted that many students spend their school years wishing they could be somewhere else, yet now, standing at the threshold of the next chapter, they find themselves not wanting to leave.

This sentiment speaks volumes about the strength of our community. It is a testament to the warmth, support, and belonging cultivated here, both by the College and the students themselves. That reluctance to leave is not just about clinging to the familiar - it is about recognising the unique connections, memories, and growth that have taken place in this space. It is about valuing the friendships forged, the lessons learned, and the shared experiences that have shaped them into who they are today.

It also says something remarkable about our students. They have built a culture of camaraderie, respect, and genuine care for one another that makes leaving feel bittersweet. It highlights their ability to create and cherish community - a skill they will carry with them as they step into the wider world.
As we farewelled them with celebration, it was clear that this is not a final goodbye but a joyful send-off, knowing that the bonds created here will last far beyond the school gates.

My thanks goes to all our students and families for their contributions over the years and especially this year. Thank you for making the night so special. A very special thanks too, to Mrs Lee Burton and Mrs Cathryn Tooney for their massive amount of work they did in preparation for the Valedictory events, along with our Administration team.
